The Classic Daiquiri

Sun-soaked beaches, rhythmic salsa beats, and a cocktail that's pure magic. As you savor the cocktail, you'll be transported to the shores of Cuba. You can almost feel the sand between your toes and the sun on your skin. The Daiquiri is the perfect way to celebrate the beauty and spirit of the Caribbean. It's legacy spans over a century, a testament to its timeless allure. The name "Daiquiri" itself paints a picture of its birthplace – the town of Daiquiri, nestled on the southeastern embrace of Cuba. Legend has it that in 1898, amidst the backdrop of this coastal haven, an American mining engineer named Jennings Cox came up with this iconic cocktail.

The Daiquiri's beauty lies in its simplicity. When made well, it offers a harmonious blend of the rum's warmth, the lime's tanginess, and the gentle sweetness of the sugar. Taste the spirit of the Caribbean and let the Classic Daiquiri whisk you away on a sun-kissed journey. So, when you're thirsting for an escape, let this be your drink of choice. Dive in, sip, and dream.

  • 25ml Fresh Lime Juice (approximately the juice of one lime)
  • 15ml Simple Syrup (or to taste)
  • Lime wheel or wedge (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preparation: Chill a cocktail glass by placing it in the freezer or filling it with ice water for a few minutes.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine the white rum, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice.

  5. Garnish: Place a lime wheel or wedge on the rim of the glass or float it atop the drink.
