The Long Island Ice Tea

Immerse yourself in the legendary world of cocktails with the Classic Long Island Iced Tea, a drink that's not just a concoction but a captivating tale in a glass. As the story goes (one of the 2 competing origins) this masterpiece is alleged to have originated in the 1920s during Prohibition in the United States by an "Old Man Bishop", a resident of Long Island in Kingsport. His original blend was a bold mix of five spirits—vodka, rum, gin, tequila, and whiskey—softened with a touch of maple syrup, encapsulating the daring spirit of its creator.

But the tale doesn't end there. In the 1940s, Bishop's son, Ransom, added his own twist to this already exhilarating mix. He introduced cola, and lemon and lime juices, elevating the cocktail to a new level of zest and zing, while maintaining its iconic tea-like appearance.

A slightly different drink is claimed to have been invented by Robert "Rosebud" Butt as an entry in a contest to create a new mixed drink with triple sec in 1972 while he worked at the Oak Beach Inn on Long Island, New York
